Terraforming the Pleasure Gardens

Val's whole body tensed as he felt one of the vines push against a sweet spot deep inside him. He twisted and pulled the tendril from his mouth to gasp for air. His climax washed over him without his even trying, almost by force, and his face flushed deeply.
"Oh fuck..!" he breathed.

Da-an shivered in what Val could only recognize as an orgasm, and as if punctuation to their climax, seemingly sneezed, coating Val's in a cloud of neon orange pollen. They withdrew from him, pausing only to feebly brush the pollen out of Val's eyes. They began to apologize profusely.

Val gasped and coughed, the orange puffs spreading further in the air. He blindly groped for his clothes so he would have something to wipe his face with. Once he was confident he could breathe and see again, he laughed breathlessly.
"I take it that means you enjoyed yourself?"

They collected themselves, seemingly twisting back into a more familiar shape, with a torso, two legs, and several dorsal tentacles. They brushed themselves off, and stretched.
"It was... acceptable," they said. "You're very much the professional."

Val frowned, his smile fading. "That's not a very glowing review. How can I make it better for you next time?"

"If there's a next time, you could stand to struggle more. We'll see." Da-an said. They turned to their small case of belongings, and extracted a fistful of latinum strips. "Thank you for your services," they said politely.

Val felt a pang of regret for thinking it was all right to bear his emotions in front of Da-an. He evidently thought the rapport between him and the alien was better than it was - why would they not have mentioned such a specific request? Especially since they knew Val had never serviced a non-humanoid before. The only answer was that they just weren't yet comfortable with Val, and he hadn't noticed - but they were so difficult to read! He tried not to let the disappointment show on his face.
He took the latinum and smiled, standing.
"You need only ask," he said sweetly, after sneezing out a cloud of orange dust. "I can't wait to come see the gardens after you've finished."

"We'll see," they repeated. "Maybe next time," they said. They hid their post-coital vulnerability away from Val as best they could under a veneer of harshness. They didn't feel comfortable with him yet at all, and the prostitute's advances felt insincere and contrived. They walked him to the entrance of the Pleasure Gardens.

"Good luck with your work," Val said, taking one last look at the lush developing gardens, thinking how much the station needed a tranquil place to simply live and breathe with real, growing things. As much as he wanted to stay and simply watch the landscape fill itself, he really had to get this orange stuff off.
He tucked his clothes under his arm and went out to the corridor in nothing but his shorts and a lot of pollen.
